Synopsis:
In Brown’s primacies, the current political order is faltering. Fyss, a young orphan living near the border, doesn’t care. His life consists of earning a few pennies by doing odd jobs and playing with Ucar, Robin and Brindy, other orphans like him staying with the widow Ronna. When he gets caught for stealing and brought to justice, Fyss’ fate is turned upside down. A life of adventure begins for him.
Review(s)
Sin of Wrath: So obviously you reading this are probably either the author, or someone who’s looking for a new webnovel to read and want to see how good the novel is based on ratings, so even though I’m not good with expressing how good this novel is, I want you to know that this is 100% publishable. Now to the review.
Style: I really like it, it’s in first person, something I don’t particularly like but is done quite well in this story, it’s more of the main character telling his own story, in fact the way it is told by the MC is so good, you don’t even realise he’s telling it from the future of the occuring events until he specifically points out him reminiscing his past. The authors style is very professional, as mentioned, publish-worthy, due to the fact that I’ve only felt this much emotional connection and emersion in a story in books published by official and recognized authors. Even when writing this review, the effect of all the events and emotions that are portrayed still stays with me, as if watching that one movie which really hooks you in and makes you think to yourself “What now?” After you’re done reading it.
Story: the story idea is amazing and it is told really well. The story starts of with present Fyss trying to remember how he ended up with 3 other orphaned children while at the same time building a foundation for world building, which for the people who don’t like too much world building it won’t be a problem, as it’s only there for the first few chapters and after you only catch glimpses of it. I could say lots about the story itself, but I don’t want to spoil anything, because I know how much spoilers can dampen or completely ruin emersion into a story, it’s something you should experience yourself.
Grammar: Not much to say, sentence structure makes sense, use of punctuation good, the typical you’d expect from an official author, except it’s in a royal road novel. Seriously I haven’t even seen a single mistake, meaning that I’m either blind (which I’m not…I think) or the author/editor check through chapters a lot. Of course it could just be the author looks over the draft, but you know where I’m getting at, grammar is top quality.
Characters: The way the characters are described and conveyed through the story gives them a certain uniqueness compared to other, normal stories. They each portray strong emotions which really tug at your heart, and also make you feel like they aren’t just side characters, but a bunch of protagonists in a single story. Of course the story is still told through the MC, but the things that the side characters go through is honestly worthy enough of having their own separate short stories.
Well that’s my review, if the quality doesn’t drop from here, this book is one of the hidden gems of royal road. If youre bored, read this, it will occupy you for hours until your eyes start aching because of how long you’ve been staring at your screen.
Keep in mind that I didn’t give 5 stars for everything just for the sake of it, or because I ignored flaws, but because I genuinely don’t see any. Maybe you guys/girls will, who knows.
