Synopsis:
Here are a few reasons why Jayanth Sengupta – also known as Jay – is drowning:
1. He doesn’t know swimming and seems prone to falling inside a body of water when near one.
2. He has nightmares haunting him every night.
3. His brother’s death might be affecting him more than he’s letting show.
Jamie Smith has seen Jay drowning ever since he showed up to the cafe at which she worked at two in the morning, spilling secrets about his brother’s death before generously tipping her.
So when he actually falls inside a pool in front of her she doesn’t have much of a choice. In a way, she feels obligated to help him because of the generosity of the tip.
So she shows him how to swim.
